beauty

So much beauty all around... in my surroundings, as well as people I interact with on a daily basis. Why isn't it enough?

Piece of Cake

Ahh... blogging hiatus.

So absolutely hilarious episode with Grace the other day. We went to the doctor, as she'd been running a fever and I was fearing an ear infection brewing. So after the doctor checked her out and left the room... I was settling her and said, "see... it was a piece of cake!"

Later, upon returning to school, Emily asked her how her doctor's appointment went. She replied, "he checked my ears and there was a piece of cake in there!"

The next morning dad was getting ready to leave the house and Grace asked him where he was going. He told her he was going to the doctor's and she said, "you have a piece of cake in your ear?!" Incredulous that so many people were experiencing this phenomenon.

That crazy cake. Goodness.

listography

So I know that I just did a list... but this is more of a post, with a listy-like twist. Amber got me a fantastic journally/book called Listography that basically is your autobiography in lists. So the other day I decided to tackle some of them and decided that I would open the book at random and fill out whichever I landed on. Well the first one I landed on was fantasies, and I wasn't ready to tackle that one, so I tried again and landed on "list your character flaws." That one was more easily tackled. And so I listed.
  • I worry.
  • I obessess.
  • I over-analyze.
  • I trivialize.
  • I avoid.
  • I'm impulsive.
  • I tend to feel more than think.
  • I jump in head first... and in reality suck at diving.
  • I lack patience.
  • I inturrupt a lot.
  • I dream and don't follow through.
  • I make horrible decisions.
  • I'm too much about I.

monotony

So I've decided that monotony drives me nuts. And I start wanting something unexpected. Not unexpected like the flu that kicked my butt as well as Grace's earlier this week... but fun unexpected. Although, I think I like routine as well. Oh conflicting desires. That drives me nuts too. Basically I'm nuts I guess.
Ryan got a laptop, and fancy internet connection, which means I am right now in the great room at my house, playing around on his computer. Which means that now when I want to use the computer, I don't have to go over to the church... I just have to wait for Ryan to come over. Fantastic.
We got a HUGE snowstorm lastnight/today. Ok - so I guess that's unexpected fun. So the rumors of the coming snow started yesterday while I was at work... so I rushed to the store to get a sled, cuz how sad would it have been to have gotten gorgeous snow and been stuck without a sled. So we got the snow, and Grace and I went sledding today. :) It was a blast. We went out in the morning and she had lots of fun... then this afternoon Ryan took her out while I got bundled, and by the time I got out there she was crying and didn't want to sled anymore. Psh. Uncle Ryan took her down the big hill really fast apparently.
Anyways, nuff of the rambling.
